Record the entry point and conditions
Say where water first appears, whether the door was closed and whether a damaged strip is visible. Existing photos taken safely after an event can be useful. Do not reproduce the problem with pressure washing or reach beneath a moving door to look for light.
Compare repairs to the observed path
Ask how each proposed part addresses that entry point. A door-mounted seal, side stop and floor threshold serve different interfaces. Surrounding drainage or opening defects may need another scope; a single “waterproofing” label should not hide those differences.
Keep project coordination with the Three Lakes address
If the recommendation includes slab, driveway or opening changes, use the County address and project resources for that property. Identify which trade owns each part and when the seal fitting can be finalized. Door service should not be mistaken for completion of the surrounding surface work.
Your questions
Do you need a video of water entering during a storm?
No. Do not place yourself near an unsafe opening or hazardous conditions for evidence. Safe existing notes and photos are enough to begin the assessment.
Can a weather seal replace a drainage correction?
Not automatically. The water path determines whether a compatible door component or separate site work is appropriate.
