A spring failure can look like an opener fault
If the motor runs but the door barely lifts, stop trying to operate it. The spring system counterbalances the door; the opener is not a substitute for that support. Tell the technician about a sudden bang, a visible gap or a door that became unusually heavy.
Match the spring to the door
Replacement depends on the actual door weight, dimensions and spring arrangement. Have the door model available if possible. Ask how the completed repair will be checked and whether other wear was found. Spring adjustment and loaded hardware work belong with a trained technician.
Your questions
Can a stronger opener solve a broken spring?
No. A failed counterbalance needs appropriate repair. A stronger motor does not restore spring support, and the door should not be operated while that failure is suspected.
Are all replacement springs the same?
No. The specification depends on the installed door and spring arrangement. The technician needs to identify the correct replacement instead of selecting by appearance alone.
Can extension-spring paint color identify the replacement?
Color is only part of professional identification. DASMA’s color-code document is not a homeowner replacement guide; the same visible color is not enough to select the correct spring. Do not order by a swatch or measure loaded hardware.
