Describe the room behind the door
Is your garage mainly for parking, occasional projects or storage? Explain how it connects to the house and what bothers you about the current space. Those details help frame the purchase without promising a specific temperature change from the door alone.
Compare matching measurements
Thermal claims need a consistent basis. DASMA distinguishes whole-door U-factor from material R-value. Ask which measurement is being quoted and which exact door configuration it describes. Avoid choosing between two differently specified assemblies using only the largest number on a brochure.
Include the complete installation
Record section construction, seals, windows, track and disposal of the old door in the proposal. Discuss any intended opener reuse before ordering. If thermal performance is a priority, make sure the final chosen design is the one represented by the product documentation.
Your questions
Will an insulated door cool the garage by itself?
It does not provide air conditioning. Ventilation, surrounding construction, sunlight and door use also influence the space; a guaranteed temperature drop would be misleading.
Is insulation the same as wind resistance?
They describe different properties. Request the applicable wind-performance information separately rather than assuming an insulated assembly meets every requirement.
